Mini Album with Bella Blvd!

I am pretty much just a card maker, but everyonce in awhile it's fun to do a scrapbook project. I started out with an album made by Maya Road, it is heavy chipboard. The album was painted with Dylusions Black Paint. The paint goes on like butter and no brush strokes show.  I did not want to paint all the pages, so I just used a Black Copic to edge the pages... much less mess and I didn't have to wait for drying.

The pages are 6x6, which doesn't leave a tremendous amount of space after you put pictures in. To help give my pages some extra bang, I used Perfect Layer Rulers to add additional mats and layers. This small extra layers of black really help things stand out. Since my pages were smaller, the Mini Rulers did the job.

I used a lot of elements from the embellishment pages in the kit. Again... just that little 1/16" layer adds so very much. I added Glossy Accents to some of the stars and word embellishments, but the shine doesn't show off in the pics. I created a little pull out pocket on the left page.

Lotsa layers again! Even though my pages are small, I think I managed to pack a lot on them using the 1/16" and 1/8" measurements on the rulers.

On these pages, I added some little buttons and bows to add a little dimension. All of the pages have foam tape popping up different elements. With the heavy chipboard pages, they can hold more weight than a regular card stock scrapbook page.

On these pages I added some little baker twine details... just running it around the edges of some of the frames.  Using the 1/16" little black edges on between the patterns really helps separate the color and define the elements.

Here's the end of the book! I had fun creating this... stepping out the box for a day! Hope I've given you some ideas! All of the papers in this project came from the vibrant Bella Blvd Collection Kit: Color Chaos. I did also add black card stock in to the mix along with MFT's Stitched Square Dies. Lots of Perfect Paper Ruler action on each page!

Today I wanted to show off the NEW Meow Mix Stamp Set! This sentiment set was created with Tim Holtz's Crazy Cat in mind and I paired it up with one of his fun little cats.

Here is the full set. Great little kitty sayings!

I created the brick background using a round ink blending tool and a red and brown ink with a stencil.  This was super easy and very forgiving to make! I used the Cute and Fluffly sentiment on the sign... heehee too cute!

On the inside I added a little more of the brick background paired up with another sentiment from the Meow Mix set.

Elements are popped up to add dimension and kitty's eyes are shiny with a little Glossy Accents on them. I colored everything with Copics. Copics: E47, E44, E43, E2, YG93, R00. Finished card is an A2.

Impression Obsession teams up with Chameleon Markers!

It's FRIDAY! This month IO has teamed up with Chameleon Markers for Friends Friday events where the two Design Teams are merging products and sharing some creativity.
You can got o the company blogs for all the details and links to the other posts for today! Of course there are some markers up for you to win... as always leave the comments for a chance to win!

Most of you know I'm a Copic girl, but there is definitely room in my coloring heart for Chameleons! I've been playing with them since they first arrived on the scene and have always enjoyed sharing them. In a lot of ways I think they are the easiest alcohol based markers that you can learn to use. You can always mix your Copics with them as well.

Today I only 4 markers for my butterfly shown above. I overlapped colors everywhere to create the shades I wanted. I do not use the Colorless Blender, I just use layered colors.  I actually was going to step out my coloring... and then I got to caught up in it and totally forgot. I'll do some florals soon with Chameleons and step it out! Chameleons are the perfect makers for an image like this that has tiny areas. Very easy to get controlled gradient color in those smaller areas.

I kept the card simple and left the butterfly be the star today. I cut it out and added it to the card with silicone after curling the wings a bit and adding some paper sliver antennae.  I used just a portion of a stamp inking up FLY only. I covered it with Glossy Accents and you can see it is still wet by the bluish tint... literally right off the desk!
Have a great weekend!

I popped up the circle and frame with foam tape to add a little dimension. The Cake word I colored with Copics B97 and B91, then I added a little shine with Glossy Accents.

This inside sentiment is also in the same great birthday set.... CL567 Happy Birthday 2U.

Sweet Strawberries with Yummy Layers!

The Impression Obsession Team and Perfect Paper Crafting have teamed up today to bring you some inspiring and crafty projects! Both companies have prizes up for the taking! How to win? It's as simple as leaving a little comment love for the bloggers. You know how it works! I'm doubled up today too, because I design for both groups... so you get a double from me today!

Get the hop started by visiting the main blog pages:

I'm sharing a card today made with new Impression Obsession images and also Perfect Paper Crafting tools. This card features the new stamp set Farm Fresh and the Farm Fresh Dies. I colored up the berries and carton with Copics and then die cut them out.
Here are the Copic Markers:
Berries: R39, R37, R35, R32, YG01, G43, G46
Carton: E47, E44, E42

You can see I've got lotsa layers going on.... always made simple by Perfect Layer Rulers. I primarily use the smaller size since I mainly do cards. I needed just a bit more stretch out of my square die cut above, so I used my Perfect Ruler to hold it exactly in place and sliced it perfectly clean.

I love love the clean cut you get using a die versus fussy cutting!

On the inside, I used up my scraps and matched the layers on the front of my card all the way through. The cute Thanks is also a new die from IO! Love the fun font. Finished card is 5 1/2" Square.

Graduation Shaker!

It has been a little while since I made a shaker card, so that's where I went today! This is a super easy card to recreate. Substitute the school colors and some black and white paper! No coloring, just some simple die cuts and added layering! The layers were created with Perfect Layer Rulers.... a favorite tool of mine!

I used some teensy small yellow seed beads inside my homemade shaker. The numbers are from an IO Number die set... the numbers clip apart, so you can mix and match to do a year or an age... anything! ACK, I just noticed I left off the dot on the i in Congratulations

Along all the edges on the banners and the Stitched Rectangle Frame, I added layers using the Perfect Layer Rulers. I mixed us the sizes, using 1/8" and 1/16" edges.

On the inside I added a stamped sentiment from the More Basic Greetings Stamp Set. The little mortarboard is also a die from IO, it comes in a set with a little diploma scroll too! Finished card is an A2.

I pulled out one of the new little die sets called Little Critters. There is a whole collection of crazy cute tiny animals and different shaped balloons. I created a little cloud background and added kitty floating with a bunch of balloons. And yes... those tiny little strings about drove me nuts, but for some reason I kept adding more balloons! Finished card is an A2.
