I used the Fight Like a Girl set for my card today. Great messages of strength and hope in this set and there is no better celebration than beating the C word. The Believe sentiment fits perfectly in to the Ornate Frame Die.

Since the sentiment was the focus I decided to use two different inks to stamp with, matching the colors to my background paper. The MISTI makes this super easy! I inked up the sentiment in peach first, stamped and then over stamped again using a pink ink.

On the inside I added another layer framed by the awesome stitched frame from the Rectangles 2 Die Set. Finished card is an A2.

It's hot in Atlanta and with the summer heat, cooking outside and hanging out on the screen porch is a weekly event at my house. This great grill stamp is even on special right now for the month of June at 50% off. Perfect for a Dad's day card, summer invite or thank you card for dinner! A I added a little texture with a brick embossing folder.

Here are the Copics I used to color up the image. I always do my backgrounds before I start to color the actual image.

I cut a blackball frame and popped it up, adding the Relax Die cut in the corner. Finished card is and A2.

I think this little birdbath image is darling and makes for a great little summer hello card! A quick color with Copics and easy enough to change up the flowers to your favorite colors. The top of the card base is glued together for stability, but I threaded a little silk ribbon through the cut outs to add a little decorative touch.
After coloring the image, I added a little sparkle to the water with a Clear Wink of Stella.

On the inside I added a quick little Just because sentiment.

Here's your hop list again!

Impression Obsession - It's a Party!

The Impression Obsession Challenge starts today and the challenge is PARTY! Create something with a party theme using IO Stamps and Dies to play along and win a gift certificate. Check out the details on the IO Blog.

Along with our party theme today we are all showing off some of the latest dies that IO released. I thought I would make a graduation invite and use some of the great new school dies that are available. I stamped the Let's Party sentiment along the bottom and added the fun jumping grad die cut. The new number die set is great to add the year or an age to a card.

To create the pocket card, I cut the red paper to 4.5" x 12". To create the fold is simple... just score at 5" and then again at 10" to make the folded card and inside pocket. Secure the sides of the pocket with a little double sided tape on the edge. I added the little scallop edge from the Border Duo Set 2 along the border on the pocket. Finished folded card measures 4.5" x 5".

Serendipity Stamps #44 My Guy

It's the start of a new month which means...a new challenge at Serendipity!
Last month we had "My Girl" so it's only fair that we have a challenge for the boys too!
We love seeing your designs and hope that you will play along. One entry will be chosen randomly and as always there is a $20 Serendipity Gift Certificate up for grabs.
All challenge details can be found here on the SSCB.

The DT is adding texture to our designs along with My Guy as our theme. Before we take a look at what the girls have come up with, we have a guest designer to welcome for this month.

Here's the line up for today:
Tracey McNeely...June Guest Designer

I used the Books image today for our guy themed challenge. Simple black and white always works for a masculine card. I stamped the books twice, masking the image to let it overlap a bit. I just added a teeny bit of shading with Copic C5,C3 and C1.

I used a brick background embossing folder to add a little texture along with a jute bow. On the embossed background I rubbed white ink over the top and then decided it was too bright. So after the white I dragged a black ink pad back over it to tone it down. The sentiment is popped up with foam tape to add a little extra dimension. Still super slim and easy to mail!
