DAY 2 - IO CHA Sneak Peeks! - Blooming Branch

Welcome to Day 2 of the Impression Obsession 2014 Spring Release Designer Hop!
We have some beautiful CHA peeks to share AND Gift Certificates to give away each day!!!
The hop will start each day with a list of participants on the Impression Obsession Blog at 6am EST. Each day pay us a visit and then head over and see our fabulous IO Design Team’s projects with our new stamps & dies on their blogs (only one comment per blog per day please). The more blogs you visit each day the better chance you will have to win!
Every day (Monday Jan 6th – Friday Jan 10th) one of the blogs will be chosen randomly and a winner will be selected from comments on that blog at 10pm CT. The winner will be announced the following day along with the participating blogs for that day.
Two prizes will be awarded on the last day of the hop. One will be for Friday’s comments and another will be chosen from all the comments left throughout the week. So if you miss a day or time deadline your comments will still count for a chance to win a $25 Impression Obsession Gift Certificate! Both Friday winners will be announced on the IO Blog on Saturday.

Today’s hop list!
Jenny Gropp - You are here!

I loved this new Blooming Branch image. It made me think of cherry blossoms and I thought about some handmade paper I had in my stash... which is where my inspiration started.

I stamped both images with Memento Espresso Truffle... not quite as dark as black. I added little soft airbrushing with C3 while the images were still in the dies.

I chose my Copic colors to coordinate with the color of the handmade paper you see in the background. No blending just colored blooms randomly with the two markers.

The handmade paper was really thin. I adhered it to a sheet of heavier weight white paper to reenforce it and allow it to be strong enough to be used as a card base.

Here's my card base, nice and sturdy... and such pretty paper!

  • Stamps by Impression Obsession: Blooming Branch #H7747, Live Dare #C13203
  • Ink: Memento Espresso Truffle
  • Paper: Misc. Handmade Paper, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110#
  • Other: White Ribbon by May Arts, Bow Easy Tool, Spellbinder's S4-356 Floral Ovals, Spellbinder's Ovals, Spellbinder's S5-127 Labels 28, Basic Grey Button, Foam Tape, Copics/ABS
