There is more new stuff coming too! We will be doing another hop on May 2nd, showing off more new designs! New rubber, Love it!

Here's the Hop List:
Miriam - Miriam's Delirium
you are here - Jenny - One Krafty Kat
Pauline - Craft Obsession
Jeanne - A Kept Life

I loved this new set and wanted to show a CAS design today. I know I'll be posting some other designs coming up soon, because I cut a lot of the pear die cuts out of different colors. Today, I used the die to emboss only. A few simple layers and a little bow and tag make this a simple and easy card to create. I used a Tim Holtz embossing Folder to add a little background detail on the ivory layer. On the inside of the card, I used the pear stamp to add a little shadow stamping in the corner of the ivory liner.

You can see the detail a little better in the close up picture. Just a reminder that you don't have to always cut with your die cuts. The scroll die designs from Serendipity make a lovely and elegant design with just simple embossing.

Blog Hop Today! Perfect Paper Crafting and Lawn Fawn

Welcome to another Monday Blog Hop!
Today the Perfect Paper Crafting and Lawn Fawn Design Teams are partnering up to show off some creativity and to give away some prizes! Perfect Paper Crafting is giving away a $50 gift certificate and Lawn Fawn is giving away a stamp set, 6x6 paper pad and one set of our Perfect Layers Rulers. The hop starts now and will go through Friday at midnight PST. Just hop around and leave some comment love for the designers for your chance to win!

Jenny Gropp  - you are here!

Here's my first card to share with you today:
On this card I used a couple of stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn:
The patterned paper on the card is from Simple Stories, the 6x6 paper pad - called the "Awesome Collection". Lots of layers made easy with the Perfect Layer Rulers.... check out how the stripes are framing the image, I have a little "how to" on this past post.

I colored my cute little airplane using Copics E84 and E89. You can see the little die that cuts the airplane out, I love that it is an open die... makes for such easy placement when you cut it out. When I colored the banner I used Copic E81, E84 and E89.

On the inside of of the card I added a 1/16" border around the panel using my Perfect Layer Rulers. I stamped the chevron border along the bottom using Versafine Olympia Green, from the Chevron Background Set. The thinking of you is from Sophie's Sentiment Stamp Set.

I used foam tape to pop up one of the layer panels and the little plane and banner. I had to add a little jute string bow on the top. I can't resist bows.

Here's my second card to share with you today:
I used Spellbinder's Grand Labels Four to create the layer and the card base for this card.... love doing shaped cards! I did hand cut the black layer. The fun number paper is from Bo Bunny's Surprise 6x6 Collection. I added a little layered band along the middle of paper and ribbon, topping it off with the fun Lawn Fawn Banner. I used the Bannerific Stamp Set with the Coordinating Die Cuts for the Banners. The happy birthday is from Sophie's Sentiments set.

I stamped the banner on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White and cut it out with the die. I added a little color to the banner using Copic B00 and BG10. I added some fun little embellishments to finish up the card.

Thanks for hopping with us today!

29th birthday... again!

The current challenge on the Art Impression's Blog is "Layer it Up", you can play along up until May first. I thought I would ink up this fun Happy 29th Birthday stamp from the "Say it Loud" series of stamps. The bright primary colors in the Bo Bunny collection "Surprise" was a great match.

After cutting the image out using my nestie, I airbrushed a little B14 around the edges while it was still in the die. I also added some piercing around the edges.

Here are the Copics I used to color the image.

This sentiment comes in the stamp set and I used it on the inside. I added several layers of the Surprise paper on the inside.... all my layers were added with the 1/16th edge of my Perfect Layer Rulers.

I used foam tape to pop up some of the layers, adding dimension. I used Glossy Accents to cover the 29th, so it has a little shine too! The finished card is an A2 and opens at the bottom, tent style.

  • Stamps by Art Impressions: #4224 Happy 29th Set
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Onyx Black
  • Paper: Bo Bunny 6x6 paper Collection "Surprise", Nenah Classic Crest Solar White, Yellow, Red
  • Other: Ribbon by SU, Bow Easy Tool, Glossy Accents, Foam Tape, Spellbinder's Rectangles and Scalloped Rectangles, Paper Piercing Tool, Copics

Little Spring Bluebird

Happy Sunday! I have a cute spring card using Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps to share with you today. Atlanta finally got some beautiful spring days and this weekend we got a blast of cold again and the heat is back on! This little bluebird makes a great little happy card! It would be a great image for an Easter card as well. I've used this sentiment multiple times, it fits with any sort of cute little image, it is from a clear set called Floral Circles 4. I airbrushed a little to get the nice soft blue background, but this is easily done with chalk too. I've used Spellbinder's Labels 8 and Decorative Labels 8 to create my card base and layers. I've really been using my die cuts for shaped cards and I just love that there are so many die ideas out there. We did the traditional card shapes of rectangles and squares for so long back in the old days before Nesties, lol! It's just fantastic to have so many options now!

On the inside of the card, you can see I used a strip of decorative paper along the bottom -- I glue this in before I die cut with my nestie. Much easier to cut them together than try and match them up perfectly and then glue the together. The yellow strip I cut and then glued in... This is a great border die from Prickley Pear... I can see it cut out of white or ivory and it would look just like a little lace border. All of the little pieces fell right out too... so not a lot of tedious poking, which is always a plus! This card will fit perfectly in to an A2 envelope.

Prickley Pear had a new release this week so check out things on the PPRS Blog or you can go directly to see all the new stamps online using this LINK.

I used the beautiful Poppy Bouquet stamp for my card. I used the out of the box technique with my die to allow the poppy petals to stick out a bit from the frame's edge. The card base and all layers are die cut from Spellbinder's Radiant Rectangle Set

Here are the Copics I used to color the image. A pretty quick color job! You can see the beautiful edge that the die cut made in this picture.

I hand cut the black layer around the flowers. The black layer is also popped up with foam tape for dimension.

SSBC #10 - Background Blackberries

You can place an order and take advantage of this sale up until May 1, 2013.

Check out the creative backgrounds the team came up with for this challenge:

I used the blackberry image to create my own patterned paper and made a simple card for today. I might be jumping the gun already with the summer tag, we just finally made it to spring! I created a shaped card using the largest die in Spellbinder's Eyelet Squares set. A few 1/16" border layers around the the image were made easily using Perfect Layer Rulers

Here are the Copics I used.
Flowers: E81, Y23, 0 Blender
Leaves: G85, G82, Y11
Berries: RV93, RV99, R56, YG11, V25 - for the berries it was a lot of layering different colors on top of each other.

I added a quick little summer tag, popped up with foam tape. A little jute string bow to finish it off.

Jenny Gropp - you are here!

I don't do a lot of scrapbooking, but when I saw these papers I thought of doing a little baby book for one of my dearest friends with pictures of her sweet little Mollie! Mollie is not quite one yet. I used various pictures converting them to B&W. I left lots of room for little notes and comments by her parents. Above is the cover of the album and below are the pages in order. I used a naked chipboard 4x6 album from Maya Road. Of course you can see I used my Perfect Layer Rulers on almost every page... they make layering so easy!

I had two great paper collections from Elle's to work with: Serendipity and You and Me. Whether you are a a scrap booker, card maker, doing Project Life... any paper crafting, Elle's really has wonderful and extensive lines to choose from!

I use some ivory and grey solid card stock, but all other papers and embellishments are from the paper collections from Elle's!  Thanks for hopping with us! I enjoyed setting the Copics aside and working on this fun project for my friend. It's good to do something different!!!

Here's the hop list again!

Orchids and Lattice

All about the beautiful die on this one! This is another Marianne's Creatable Die Set - Anja's Large Oval. You can see all the layers in the die set below. No bows or fancy embellishments on this. I thought the die was plenty!

I paired it up with Flourishes beautiful Orchid set. I stamped the Orchids on white and then colored the background black.
  • Stamps: Orchids by Flourishes
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Pink, Black
  • Other: #LR0236 Marianne Die -Anja's Large Oval, Copics, Adhesive Pearls

Wrap it in RIbbon

The Flourishes Challenge this week is "Wrap it in Ribbon", well of course thats right up my alley! I can never resist ribbon on a card! So I pulled out one of the sets from the March release (Forget Me Not Notes) that I had not inked up and grabbed some ribbon!
I used Spellbinder's Beaded Squares to create this die cut. While the paper was still in the die I airbrushed a little B26 to get the deeper color.

You can see I took the challenge Wrap it Ribbon quite literally! I used some Su ribbon and wrapped a small piece through each little opening around sides. I did this with the Beaded Ovals die a year or so ago -- Heres the LINK to see it, I used different colors of ribbon on that one and loved the resulting framed look.

Here are the Copics I used to color the flowers. A bit bright, but I googled them and google showed me lots of pics... they are bright blue flowers! I used the Flourishes Perfectly Pierced Window Die to cut the yellow layer... loved the little piercings! I traced the inside of the with pencil and hand cut the white stamped layer. The small blue layer is hand cut.

I used a Viva Clear Gloss Gel Pen to add a little shine to the center of the flowers and the yellow bow. The card is 4 1/2" square and opens at the bottom, tent style.

IO - Spring Challenge

Welcome to DT Thursday with Impression Obsession! Our theme today is SPRING. You can always play along with the team for a chance to win a $25 Gift Certificate to shop at IO Online. You can find all the Challenge Details on the Impression Obsession Blog
Check out the spring ideas the team came up with today:

I picked an older image to show off today. It is a Gary Robertson image "Hummingbird Window Box". No little kitty hiding in this image either. You can see the full image below and how I just used a portion of it, changing it up a bit.
I had a whole slew of markers on the desk as I colored this and did not take a picture of the markers as usual. Sorry! I chose my marker colors based on the papers I was using, which are all from Bo Bunny's C'est La Vie 12x12 Collection. I thought all the pastels gave it more of a springtime feel. And speaking of spring.... I'm ready for it! Cold and rainy in Atlanta... we've only had a few "teaser" warmer days so far!
