Winter Birthday

The Design Team for Serendipity Stamps was tasked with using a holiday image for a birthday card. I thought this little snowman would be easy enough to add a birthday sentiment to. There's a special right now too... Use coupon code “40fromhigh1212″ to get 40% off the highest priced item in your cart when you shop online at Serendipity Stamps.

Check out what the ladies came up with this week:
I paired up the cute little snowman with Spellbinder's Marvelous Squares, adding a simple birthday sentiment. I used Perfect Layers to add a simple 1/16" border edge to the sentiment. I think this snowman can be more Christmas like with a simple color change using traditional holiday DP and holiday greens and reds.
I stamp the image before I cut it out with the Nestie. Also for this die, I found it better to use 110# paper, it had a little more strength, that helps when peeling it out of the die cut. I used B00 and B0000 on the background. I added BG10 to the snowman and snow drifts. I softened the edge of the BG10 using the 0 Blender.
Here are the remaining Copic Colors I used to finish the image. You can see the detailed open sides on the die cut, and if you look at the finished card above you can see how I added simple ribbon bands through each edge. Finished card is 4 1/4" Square.

  1. Very pretty card that idea to add the ribbon to the Spellbinders...going to give that idea a try!

  2. Hi Jenny! Your snowman is amazing - your coloring is gorgeous (as always) and I love the fancy die cuts that remind me of intricate detailed snowflakes! It really ties everything together!

  3. Colored to perfection ! So gorgeous! After Cathy you using this gorgeous die I have to have it. Love the way you wove the ribbon on this card. Merry Christmas Jenny!

  4. Your snowman is SO sweet, and such a great layout!!
