Outlines - Pick a Posy

Last year Outlines released a series of Mix and Match Posy stamps that have been hugely popular! So many looks and endless flowers to create with these stamps. You can view the full line of the Mix and Match Posy Images with this LINK! Our team challenge this week was to "Pick a Posy" to create with. Check out what all the ladies created today:  Bev GerardJeanne StreiffLisa SilverRobin Kirkpatrick, Sandy Hulsart and Vicki Garrett.

To create the layers on my flower, I used two posy stamps: E-1023 Oval Posy Medium and D-1024 Oval Posy Small. The sentiment is from a set of "centers" with different messages, making it super easy to customize your flower - F-1049 Posy Greeting Centers. I used SEI's 6x6 Juliette Paper Collection to make this card. I love the soft colors. To stamp all the images, I used Versafine's Smoky Grey ink and then heat embossed with Clear Detail Powder. You can see the white edges on one of the layers - That is Moonlight White Smooch. Since the flower was embossed it made it easy to apply the Smooch in just the right spots - the embossed edges act as a resist. The little silver heart hat pin has been in my stash for a while now, I saw it and thought it went with the colors perfectly. I added small seed pearls along the pin and then stuck the pin in to the foam tape in between the flower layers. A bow to finish it off!

Loved this new gardening image! Even though I can't keep bamboo alive... I love coloring floral and gardening images. After coloring the image with Copics, I created a simple card base adding black jute string and a bow along the bottom edge.

IO - MORE New Stamps!

The Impression Obsession Design Team is continuing to show off fabulous cards designed with brand new images this week. Hopping around and leaving comments gets you a chance to win some IO Cash, so be sure and check out the details on the Impression Obsession Blog and find links to the Design Team's Creations.
There are several FUN castle themed scene images in this new release from IO. It's a lot of coloring on an image, but I do love to color and thought this image with the swans and castle fairy tale type look paired up well with the "Happily Ever After" message. I used Spellbinder's Labels 8 to cut out the image, layering it with a thin white hand cut mat.

IO -CHA New Images!

The Impression Obsession Team is showing off brand new images all this week! To celebrate we also have a gift certificate up for grabs! Please check the Impression Obsession Blog to find out all the details and see who is showing off NEW images today!
I always love the scene images from Impression Obsession, and this go around was no exception. I colored this image, #H1808 Potted Scene, with Copic Markers, cutting a small portion of the image frame off and adding my own red and then white layered mats under it. A new background Cover-a-Card stamp, #CC73 Canvas, is stamped in Versafine Sepia Brown adding a textured design. The sentiment is from a new gardening themed Clear Stamp Set, #CL322 In a Garden. Some eyelets and ivory jute string give a little extra detail to the card.

Outlines -Simply Square

This week, the challenge for the Outlines's Design Team was to keep things SQUARE on our card. Check out what the team came up with this week: Jeanne StreiffLisa SilverRobin Kirkpatrick, Sandy Hulsart and Vicki Garrett.

I chose this great butterfly to color up this week. It is two butterfly images paired up, the top Butterfly (C-617 Butterfly 2) is the butterfly only. The second layer has the butterfly merged with the square frame (E-519 Butterfly Sq.Lg.). I colored the image with Copic Markers. I cut away the inside of the Butterfly frame with an Xacto knife creating the open frame. I used Dimensional Silicone to prop up the butterfly wings and the curved Nature's Delight sentiment. To finish things off I used ribbon to create another "square" element in my card. I used Scor Pal tape under the ribbon to keep it held in just the right spot. Viva Decor Gold Pearl Pen dots decorate the frame.

Well the deep purple card stock I picked didn't photograph well, which stinks. I used a new Cover-a-Card background #CC078 Round Floral for the background, stamped in Versafine's Imperial Purple ink.  The sentiment is from a new clear set, #CL317 True Blue Friend. Both are soon the be released at CHA and will be available online after the show. The purple card stock panel is embossed with a CB folder and I added to border scallop edges to the sentiment accenting them with a Viva Decor Pearl Pen. A row of pearls and a bow finishes it off. Final card size is an A2.

The Journey Tree

I have been making some seriously pink cards lately. So, taking a break from Valentines and Flowers.... I colored up this cool tree image. I added a CB'ed embossed white mat and lots of layers in between! I used brown Jute String to wrap around the entire panel under the image. I used the Bow Easy to make my little multiple loop bow, I cut off the bow tails and then glued it on top of the wrapped string. When I wrap string or ribbon like this, I will use a piece of Scor Pal tape under it, so that the string stays right in place and does not wiggle around.
  • Stamps: All stamps from There She Goes - The Journey
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Onyx Black
  • Paper: Green DP by SU, Kraft, Brown, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White

Outlines -Sweethearts

Our challenge from Outlines today is to use HEARTS on our card, in our image or paper, just have a heart somewhere! Check out what all the ladies created today:  Bev GerardJeanne StreiffLisa SilverRobin Kirkpatrick, Sandy Hulsart and Vicki Garrett.
I used Copics to color up this cute little bluebird and the pink ribbon. I added a tiny banner sentiment along the bottom, supporting the bend using dimensional silicone underneath. Now that different colored ribbons show support for so many causes, I think this is a great image that could have a lot of different meanings. I used a White Ice Viva Decor Pearl Pen to add the tiny little pearls around the edge of the Nestie and to embellish the dots on the wings.

Flourishes 100th Challenge...

Flourishes is celebrating their 100th challenge this week with a customer blog hop!
You can find all the details here to play along:
Flourishes has long been a favorite company of mine! So many of their stamp sets are brought to life so easily with Copic markers. I used one the latest releases Butterflies and Blossoms to create this card. I left a few of the leaves peeking outside from my circle image. My ribbon was originally white and brown, but that was easily changed with a yellow Copic marker. Finished card size is 5" square.

Outlines - Valentine's Day!

Today brings another post with the Outlines' Design Team. Today we are all making Valentine's Day cards and using Viva Decor Pearl Pens on our projects. Hop around and see what everyone created:  Bev GerardJeanne StreiffLisa SilverRobin Kirkpatrick, Sandy Hulsart and Vicki Garrett.
I made this very pink card! Pink is not a color I go to often! I colored the image with Copics: RV25, RV23, G24, G20 and I airbrushed a little R81 around the edges. I used Spellbinder's Long Rectangles to frame and cut out the image. A Martha Heart punch along the edge and a ribbon and a bow to finish it off.
I used a Viva Decor Pearl Pen - White Ice to embellish this image. It has a tiny little tip and is perfect for easy placement! Loving these Pearl Pens and they come in a ton of colors!!

IO Challenge - Love is all you need....

This week the challenge from Impression Obsession was to create a card with "Love" as the theme. We are also showing off new stamps that will be released at this upcoming CHA show. AND you can play along with team and be entered to win a gift certificate for your participation. Check out the rules on how to play on the Impression Obsession Blog. Hop around and see the other Design Team's creations: Daniela DobsonDeborah MarchDina KowalJeanne StreiffJulie KoerberKathy MenziesKelli RichardsonLaura Fulcher and Shirley Ross.
When I saw this big rose, I knew I wanted to color it asap with my Copics. I also had in my mind to use non traditional colors for my card, meaning other than pink and red for Valentine's Day. I went with this intense coral color. In the background I used a new Cover a Card background stamp, adding a layer of coral ink in a random texture pattern, it's hard to see in the pic! I roughed up all the edges of my card stock and also sponged coral ink along the edges of all the ivory paper. The black panel is also embossed with a floral CB folder. A few buttons, pearls and a little length of lace to finish it up! Finished card size is 5 1/4" Square.

  • Stamps: All stamps by Impression Obsession - CC076 Cover a Card Background, #l8612 Romantic Rose, #E8611 Reasons to Love - all of theses stamps are new releases for CHA, not yet available in the online store.
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Onyx Black, Marvy Coral
  • Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Natural White, Coral, Black
  • Other: Misc. Buttons, Jute String, Lace by May Arts, Copics

Outlines - Introducing the new Design Team!

To start the new year off, I'm a part of the new Outlines Rubber Stamps Design Team! This is our first team post and our theme was "anything goes", we just wanted to introduce everyone and create something just for fun! We will be posting as a group every Monday!
Please hop around to the other blogs to see what everyone created for our first time out... Bev GerardJeanne StreiffLisa SilverRobin Kirkpatrick, Sandy Hulsart and Vicki Garrett. I'm thrilled to be part of such a talented team!

I knew I wanted to create a card with these candles. I've had this stamp in my stash for a while and have been wanting to ink it up! I chose the striped paper and then matched my Copic markers to the colors of the stripes, well sort of, lol! That was the intent. The candles are part of a larger stamp, I cut the inside candle square images out leaving me with what you see on my card, layering them on my scalloped nestie. In the close up pic, you can see I popped two of the candle images up. The sentiment is popped up using dimensional silicone to hold the "bend" in the banner. Some black pearls and a button/bow to embellish finishes this card. Final card size is an A2.
