Play along with the team this week for a chance to win a gift certificate!
Find out all the challenge details on the Outlines Blog.
Check out what everyone came up with today:

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We had a wonderful evening with my husband's family on Christmas Eve. Christmas Day was quiet other than the sniffles and sounds of a cold from my husband.... hoping I can avoid the germs!! My family will be back in town and we will have a nice dinner Monday night at my house... so the Holday fun continues for another day... hoping the sniffles leave! Here is a simple and quick thank you that I cooked up for today's challenge.
Simple and easy coloring with Copics, colors shown above. I added 1/8" and 1/16" border mats using Perfect Layers Rulers
I added the sentiment on the inside of the card, along with a little scrap of the printed reindeer paper.
Here is the finished card front.... all blinged up! Lots of Crystals to SHINE! Finished card is an A2 card size and I used the Corner Chomper to round the top corners of the card.

Winter Snowmen

Today the Serendipity Team is showing off Simple Christmas Cards.
Check out what all the ladies came up with:
 Amy - Anya - Kathie - Miriam
A few layers and it it looks a little busy... but simple it is! I added the snowflake border on the top and the bottom of the image. Then I popped the image up with foam tape to add a little dimension.
Here are the two Copics I used to color the background. I colored right over the snow flurries.... using the Colorless Blender pen to go back and make them white in the end.
I used some light grey tones to add some subtle shadows in the snow. Also since I was using kraft card stock, I added E42 in the mix with most of the colors, toning the brightness down a bit.
I used Perfect Layers Rulers to add 1/16" edge borders on the image and the kraft snowflake panel. Finished card is an A2. I used the Corner Chomper to round the card's corners.

Play along with the team this week.
Find out all the challenge details on the Outlines Blog.
Check out what everyone came up with today:

I stamped the snowflake on the blue pattern paper, embossing it with White Detail EP. A few layers and a decorative die cut to create this very simple card.
I used Scor Pal tape to add a ribbon band around both layers of the card. I raised the center panel up with foam tape. A row of piercing along the white layer's border. Easy Peasy card for today!

Merry Christmas Ornament

A few layers to create the background. I cut out the ornament very close to the edge with scissors after stamping, then I used the coordinating die to cut out a solid red ornament to back it with. I used a CB folder to emboss just a portion of the label panel, stamping the sentiment below the embossing.
Quick coloring with a really light touch since the areas were so small. Here are the Copics I used, matching the reds and greens to the tones in the DP.
Simple elements all put together.... with a few jewels to dress things up a bit. Finished card is an A2 that opens at the bottom, tent style.

Kitty Christmas

A fun little kitty card for today!
Check out what the Prickley Pear Design Team created this week by hopping over to the Prickley Pear Blog.
NOTE.... If you are looking for the Outlines post... scroll down!
I'm a sucker for all black kitty stamps. This little kitty had some swirls in the body of the stamp, but I altered them and colored the entire kitty black. I love this little guys wispy whiskers and swirly tail! I framed the image panel with a Spellbinder's Postage Stamps Die and studded the outside with large adhesive pearls.
I airbrushed around the inside of the square nestie using YG25. Then I added random pierced holes around the edge. A few layers to dress it up. I used Copic Opaque White Paint on the cat's hat.

Bright and Shiny

Today, the Outlines Team is showing of bright and shiny creations!
Play along with the team this week.
Find out all the challenge details on the Outlines Blog.
Check out what everyone came up with today:

Bright and Shiny was our theme this week.... I started with all metallic papers.
I used the blank gift card template stamp (below) to create the red frame. I cut the inside of the frame out and then flipped it over so the stamped lines did not show. I glued it to the white card stock and then ran it through a Cuttlebug Folder... so the two pieces kind of melded together after embossing.

I used 1/16" Rainbow Tape to add the black and white lines adding a little extra detailing. I heat embossed the tree and then.... BLING, BLING, BLING... lotsa crystals! I had this yellow star crystal in my stash which was perfect to add right on top. I used foam tape to raise the tree up a bit. Finished card is an A2. Traditional colors and a super easy layout for this card!

Christmas Carolers

Simple and clean layouts in this week's tutorial over at Outlines. I covered the entire card front with pattern paper. I tried to choose Copics that matched the paper's color. I added some simple layers and a bow. No nesties or any fancy embellishments... just an easy no fuss card!
Here are the Copics I used for the carolers. You can find step by step instructions for this card and two more on the Outlines website. Also this stamp and others are on sale at 20% off this week! Check out the full tutorial and stamps on sale HERE.

Joy is in the Air

The Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge this week is a fun sketch challenge from Silke! The layout was a quick and easy one, so I had to make some time to ink up this cute little image and make a card. You can find the sketch and all the details of how to play along on the Flourishes Blog.
I stamped the image and cut it out with a Spellbinder's Circle Nestie. Here are the Copics I used to color the image.
Since Silke was hosting this challenge, I had to throw some silver ball embellishments on this in her honor! I heat embossed the sentiment along the bottom with Detail White EP. I added small piercings around the circle image. I adhered the red silk bow with a dab of Ultimate Glue. Finished card is an A2.
  • Stamps: Joy is in the Air from Flourishes
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark and Detail WHite EP
  • Paper: DP from Echo Park - Happy Day, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Red
  • Other: Bow Easy Tool, Perfect Layer Rulers, Copics, Spellbinder's Circle Nesties, Spellbinder's 2010 Snowflake Dies

Tea Time

The Serendipity DT is serving up tea today.
Check out what the ladies created today:  Amy - Anya - Kathie - Miriam
A fun little tea pot image today from Serendipity Stamps. Some simple die cuts and a few pierced edges to dress this image up. Card size is an A2.
Above are the Copics I used to color the image. I airbrushed with R21 around the edges before I took the circle out of the die.
I stamped the small little heart tea cup on the bottom corner of the inside.

Tag Time....

Today, the Outlines Team is showing of Gift Tags... tis the season!
Make a gift tag and play along with the team this week.
Find out all the challenge details on the Outlines Blog.
Check out what fun tags everyone came up with today:
Keepin' it simple today. I thought I would stick with with just embossing today.... I just got the new Gold Delicata Ink and had been looking for a project to try it out.
Here is the inside of the card, with a smaller snowflake around the edges.
The To and From stamp actually is to use with a gift card and looks like this....

I only inked up the top portion of the stamp.
The Delicata ink is a more brilliant gold than I have used before. It is a pigment ink and you can heat emboss or not. It is a yellow gold, but I found the yellow tones calmed down when I paired it up with the   softer gold layer. It is an ink that is supposed to not fade and keep the look of gold foil. I did heat emboss with Detail Clear Ep, just to add a small glossy finish to the snowflake. Since it was Detail Powder the gloss is very subtle.

Snow Kitty

Love this little snow kitty... well, to be honest... I love all the kitty images! This card was a quickie.... I colored the image and then mimicked the layers in the stamp for my card base. Perfect Layer Rulers made it super quick to create this! I have to say the blues matched in my craft room but not so much in the white light of my light tent. Grrrrrr.
Here are the Copic Markers I used to color the image. You can see in this pic that the image also has a border around it, but I cut that portion off to create a smaller main panel and allow for more layers!
All simple embellishing on this one.... button and bow, Swiss Dots CB folder in the background and a simple row of piercing under the image. The image panel is popped up with foam tape.

Sweet Treat

The Impression Obsession Team's Challenge today... all about Drinks.
As always you can play along and have a chance to win a Gift Certificate to IO. Find all the details on the Impression Obsession Blog.
See what every one is serving up today...
I'm sure a little (or a large!) Peppermint Martini will warm you up on a chilly night!
A quick and easy card, stamping the martini multiple times to create the background. I will confess to using an entire packages of small adhesive crystals on this one card! Using Glossy Accents I added an outline to all the martini glasses and the little red berries to make them pop out a bit.
Here are the Copics I used to color the little martinis. Finished card is an A2 size, tent style, opening at the bottom. A quick and simple card.... it took me more time to put all the crystals on that anything else!!!
  • Stamps by Impression Obsession: #C7647 Christmas Martini, #B3592 Baby it's Cold
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar WHite, Red Metallic Card Stock, Black
  • Other: Misc. Ribbon, Bow Easy Tool, Copics, Glossy Accents, Adhesive Small Crystals

Jingle all the way....

I had chance to ink up one of the new sets from Flourishes and play along in their Tuesday Challenge! The challenge this week was a recipe challenge and your design had to include the following: a flower, ribbon and tag. Find all the details on the Flourishes Blog.
I stamped and used the matching die to cut out the image and sentiment. I left the images in the die to protect the outside ivory border and then airbrushed, first using Y28, then finished coloring in the background with the other colors.
Here is the colored image colored and the Copics I used. You can see the additional pieces of the flower that I colored and cut up to layer.
I used a Lattice Die in the background and added small red gems in the intersecting lines. Both the tag sentiment and the image panel are popped up with foam tape. I hand cut an additional red layer around the image and tag. I used Dimensional Silicone to adhere the flower pieces after giving them a gentle curve using my fingers. Card size is a hair larger than an A2.

Outlines is "Hanging it Up" this week!!!

The Outlines Team is hanging it up this week, all of our projects have to hang.... no cards! Outlines has a huge range of Ornament Toppers and also Jewel It stamps that make for super easy templates to create your own holiday decorations.
Play along with the Outlines Team for a chance to win $25, check out all the details on the Outlines Blog.
See what the gals came up with today:

I altered this Ornament Topper slightly, cutting it down from it's original size and using a smaller portion... putting a few Spellbinder's Picot Edge Circles in the mix.
Here are all the pieces I used. I heat embossed all the stamped pieces with detail gold EP. I used a heavy weight white shimmer and red shimmer card stock.
Here are the pieces as they start to come together. I used Glossy Accents as my adhesive, as it hardens when it dries and added a little more heft to my ornament. The two large gold Picot Circles I glued back to back, tucking the gold hanging cord in between them. I aded a white Spellbinder's circle in the middle. You can see the layers coming together.
Here is the finished layered piece... before adding the Swarovski Crystals. Both sides are identical, but with a different sentiment in the middle. Where the red diamonds over hang the circles, I added glue and pinched them together for a more finished look around the edges.

November Birthday Flower

I love the look of white on white, but always find it difficult to do! So I thought I would challenge myself and try to do only white layers for the card. I added embossed frames using Spellbinder's Dies and also using a CB Folder on one of the layers.
You can see here the embossed frames.... I lined up the frames around the image and then embossed only, no cutting. It gives your the multiple embossed lines as it is embossing the cut line and the inside and outside edge of the Nestie. I love this look! Here are the Copics I used too. A subtle little glow around the flowers with BG000, it does not show up well in the pic.
Here is a close up. I added a little white bow made with 1/8" white ribbon. Flourishes has thee stamp sets, that give you the images and tag line for all the month's flowers. Perfect to make a calendar for the new year too!!!

Happy Christmas Trio

Hoping everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!! I gobbled down food and took lots of leftovers (lol!) at my parent's house here in Atlanta. We had great food and good company! We were lucky and had a beautiful fall day with sunshine too!
Each week I design cards for Outlines to feature with full tutorials and I thought I would share them this week on my blog too. This little reindeer is called Vixen and he is easy to color and add lots of fun bling and embellishments too! Plus, I had the cutest little reindeer paper that was just meant for him!
I cut the image down just a tad... it actually has a frame around the edge, but I trimmed that off to have a slightly smaller panel to work with. You can see the colors I added around him, giving the image a fun wintery glow.
Above are the Copics I used to finish coloring Mr. Vixen the reindeer. I also colored a second star to pop up on the finished card.
Here is an up close view. On his nose... I added a tiny bit of Holo Glitter Pen for Sparkle and then add the Glass Effects Gel Pen over it for a shiny round finish. See the little reindeer in the patterned paper... how cute is that with this image! Lots of Swarovski Crystals added makes this image come alive too! A few layers on here... all of the straight line rulers were done with Perfect Layers Rulers <---- use this link for a discount code to order! Bakers twine wrapped around the panel and topped with a loopy bow to finish. The card is A2 and opens at the bottom tent style. A few embellishing pearls along the bottom edge made with the very addictive Viva Pearl Pens.... this one is Bronze. I used a little drop of black pearl pen for his eye.
