A card fit for a Queen....

I made this birthday card for my friend Marcy... you can find her blog here Queen Marcy Orginals. She loves all things "queen-like" which inspired the design. I used the Spellbinder's Nested Crown Dies to cut and emboss the two crowns out of gold metallic card stock. I left them in the Nestie and then airbrushed Copic BV29 to add the color. In the pic it looks a little dark, but in real life it is a purply color that matches to the purple card stock. I added a few pearls and metallic accents to embellish and finished it off with a white silk ribbon bow. 

Sweethearts...

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We actually had snow here in Atlanta on Christmas Day! I guess the Holidays are marching on and here we are at Valentine's Day!  I stamped this image twice,  using the hearts from the second stamping to "pop" over the original stamping. I colored everything with Copics. A little glossy accents over the hearts and the vase add a little sparkle and shine.

A Quick Holiday Note

A quick little Holiday note... I used Copics to color the image and just added a few little layers and rounded some of the corners with my Corner Chomper. I used a little dab of glitter glue for sparkle on the flame. I covered the candlestick with Glossy Accents, The sentiment with the border punched edge is popped up with foam tape.

Season's Greetings

I used this same stamp last week, on a Valentine's card. This stamp image from Layers of Color is made to pair up with Spellbinder's Labels 16. I though it would work just as well for Christmas, coloring the roses with red and green, so I had to ink it up again.

I colored the roses with Copics. I cut the outside and the inside of the frame out too, using Spellbinder's Labels 16. Instead of leaving white space on the inside of the cut out frame, I used a marker and colored it all black right up to the edge. The little white dots are Ranger's Enamel, I'm so very addicted to that stuff. I used Paper Crafting Silicone and raised the frame up over the greeting. The silicone is almost invisible and allows light through edges. I stamped a simple sentiment from Impression Obsession for the inside and dressed up a card base with a CB embossed panel and a bit of ribbon. FInished card size is an A2.

Floral Birthday

I often have issues coloring something "softly" with Copics. The Copic markers are so bold and beautiful, I like to go for big color. Keeping something lighter is sometimes a challenge for me. For the flowers on this card I used E95, E93, E01 and E00 and added a little soft airbrushing around the edges. I used Neenah Natural White to stamp on, which in my eyes is a softer ivory color, rather than a white. Graphic 45's latest release "Once upon a Springtime" papers are used in the layers. I just got my hands on this new set from Flourishes "Blossom's and Butterflies" and just had to color it up ASAP!

IO Challenge - All that Glistens... Metallics

This week the challenge from Impression Obsession was to create a card using Metallic Colors. AND you can play along with team and be entered to win a gift certificate for your participation. Obviously, I went GOLD! Love this embossed gold paper I found in my stash. I colored the tree with Copics and added some gold gel pen to the swirls. A small gold nailhead in each of the poinsettias adds another metallic element. I gold embossed the sentiment and added it with a hand trimmed banner, I curled the banner around my finger to give it a little curve and adhered it with dimensional silicone. A few little gold bows to decorate. Finished card size is an A2.

Time to make 2011 Calendars.....

Serendipity Stamps has beautiful Month themed stamps that can be used to create calendars - You can check out all styles HERE. I got July to play with. I printed a 2011 July calendar out on Neenah Ivory paper. In the background I used Spellbinder's Big Scalloped Rectangles as a layer, embossing it with a Stars Cuttlebug folder, which kind of ended up being hidden! I used the edge of my scissors to rough up all the edges and also inked them liberally with Walnut Distress ink. I'm addicted to adding a hint of Stickles Sparkle around the edges of my projects. I'm going to have to hide the bottle from myself! I colored the image with Copics. The cute little flower paper is from October Afternoon. A little wrap around jute string with a bow to finish it up. 

Love one another...

I created this card using another frame image designed to coordinate with Nesties from Layers of Color. I thought I would keep it kind pink and red, mixing Copic markers to color the roses. I used Spellbinder's Labels 16 to create the layers. I added jewels around the inside border and a small pink bow to dress things up. I added Glossy Accents around the black edge of the outside border, although it is hard to see in the picture.

This challenge was to create a card based on a New Year's Resolution. NO... my resolution is not to eat more ice cream. I'm already doing too well in that department! My resolution is to send out more sweet notes and cards to my friends. Most often my cards end up at the stamp store for samples or being sent to the stamp companies. I seem to always fall very short on actually mailing cards out to send a smile to a friend. 

I colored the image using Copics and you can see in the close up that I added Glossy Accents over the bowl and the cherry. I used Spellbinder's Labels 15 to frame the Sundae in red card stock. I also used it in the background cutting a larger label out of brown card stock and then cutting it in to quarters, after embossing it with a CB folder. A few little buttons with jute string and a Martha border bunch to embellish the sentiment along the bottom.
