Nov. 26 -ssnotime167 - Black Friday — Sharon's challenge: Well, I guess that’s what they call today (Friday). Yes, here in the US it is the day after Thanksgiving when the Christmas shopping season steps into full gear and all retailers hope to get their books from the red into the black! So taking our inspiration from that — today we will use Black in our creations. Use black as one of your feature colors or merely as an accent, use a black ribbon or other embellishment — whatever works for you. I love black accents on cards and can’t wait to see what you’ll create!
Play along and link your project on Sharon's blog, No Time to Stamp, using Mr. Linky. See what colorful projects the team cooked up this week....our Ring Leader - Sharon, Janine Orchard, A J Otto, Deb Saarenen, Deb Neerman, Barb Anders, and Barb Schram. Joining us for the month of November we have the creative Claudia Rosa with us as a guest stamper! Be sure and check out her blog - Pretty Pressings.
I used one of the newest Flourishes sets - Vintage Postcard. This is super simple and would be easy to mass produce for Holiday cards. I used Kraft paper to stamp on and added a little soft brown airbrushing with Copic E55 around the edges. On the black layers I used glitter glue to add a fine line of sparkle and shimmer to perk it up and give it more of a Holiday feel. The outer black layer is Cuttlebugged, but it's not so easy to see the embossing in the picture. A simple black bow made with the Bow Easy, and a Tim Holtz button to top it off.
