Spring Bunny

I love this little Bun-Bun sticking out of the cabbage! I started by airbrushing a little yellow background, then I used the same yellow Copic to outline around the images. The bunny I stamped twice and then pieced on top of itself to add a little dimension. I layered paper, added some ric rac and faux stitching. I used a Pink Souffle pen to make the stitch marks. It dries a little puffy and works wonderfully on darker card stock. Finished card size is an A2.

Rainy Day!

We did get some serious RAIN this weekend in Atlanta, kinda dreary weather, but we badly need the rain in the lakes. OK, lots going on here on this little card! I love paper piecing, and that's what I did for the Rain Coat and the wiener dog's sweater, these stamps are perfect for paper piecing! I colored the rest of the image with Copics, outlining the images with N1. On the ruffle bottom of the Raincoat I added little dots using a Souffle pen -- they puff up when they dry! Click on the close up pic to enlarge for a better look-see! The blue panel is cuttlebugged with the Circle/Flower Folder. I created the bottom circle border with a corner punch, just removed the corner piece and punched straight across a paper strip. I added little strips of paper and black and white Rainbow tape to cover the paper seams. I used scallop scissors to edge, then I used the cut away from that to edge the sides of the card. On the raindrops and the boots I used a clear glaze pen to add a little shine. Whew! No Nesties or Martha punch on this -- whaaaat!?! Finished card size is an A2.

What the Worm thinks....

This is another fun image from Dog Gone Stamps. I airbrushed the blue background, and colored the worm and fish with Copics. I also added a little Spica Sparkle then covered them in crystal lacquer for the "wet" look. I hand trimmed the additional layers around my Nestie. The little tabs on the left I created with my SU window punch, then trimmed the edge off with a decorative scissor. Added some teensy polka dots around the edges, and some little silver pearls. For my card base I used three colors kinda all put together in strips. Finished card is an A2.

Dog Gone also released new stamps this week. Check this little Chihuahua and Cake image out! How fun is that going to be all colored in with Copics!

OCC Color Challenge - Wild Thing!

The OCC has a Color Challenge for you today.... Our March hostess, Kim Teasdale, has picked these colors for this week's challenge: Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy, More Mustard and One Neutral Color.... I loved every one's samples for today, the same colors but all so different looking! WOW! My card definitely got a little wild... I just couldn't stop. I hand drew little circles to make the polka-dot border around all my Nestie pieces, also adding a blue inner frame and tiny black dots... like I said I couldn't stop. Then I had to use my Martha punch down both sides, cause I love 'em, and can't stop using those either. I airbrushed a little blue and colored the birdies with Copics. I also highlighted over "Wild Thing" with a Copic. Added one jewel, cause bling is always good, but so much was going on here that anything more would have been too much! There's even some cuttlebug action on the light blue octagons. Finished card is an A2.

Just Because Seahorse

I used this week's Mojo Monday Sketch for this card. I know, I picked some strange colors to pair up together. But I think it came out OK in the end. The scallops on the bottom are the Martha Lace Doily punch.... I just trimmed the bottom lace part off, it was too much going on down there. I also used the Flower Cuttlebug folder to emboss my square panel. This Seahorse from Dog Gone Stamps is definitely a girl with those lashes and come and get me expression! I cut a slit in the Seahorse panel to thread my ribbon thru, then adhered a bow over it. Finished card size is an A2.

Bits o' Ribbon

Why is that the creativity finally hits Sunday night, when it's time to pack it up and get ready for the new week? Why, I ask you, does anyone know??? How frustrating is that! I made this card for Sharon's Friday Challenge... Stamp Simply #79 - You’ve Been Tabbed! The challenge is all about little bits of ribbon — ribbon TABS that is. Rather than adorning our cards with wrapped ribbon or bows, let’s just use a bit of ribbon and make ribbon tabs — wide, narrow, whatever! I chose to hang some bits of ribbon and also instead of a traditional tab of ribbon, I folded some ribbon over and incorporated it in with the flower. All this paper is from Basic Grey's Eva 6x6 Collection. Once a month I take a Basic Grey kit class with some stamp pals, the Basic Grey kits have really helped me to put patterns and mix papers up. This card is just strips of the Eva papers layered together, I know it's a little much with the patterns and the flower, but I think I like it! And OMG! -- not a Copic used! Finished card is an A2.

OCC Sketch Challenge

Thanks to all who played in last week's Limited Supply Challenge, it was a challenge for me to only use three layers! I love using Mr. Linky to hop around and see everyone's take on the challenges -- totally fun! I'm finally getting back to life after being down with the flu and then laryngitis.

Here's my take on Kim's Sketch Challenge for this week. The paper choice was from a kit a friend had put together, not colors or patterns I would normally go for.... so I thought a sketch challenge would be perfect to help me put them together. I flipped the sketch on it's side, but kept true to the layout. I paper pieced the candles and colored the flames with a light yellow Copic, then added a little glitter glue for some glitz. The colors were quite bright so I also sponged some brown around the edges, after I did that, I wished I had left it clean. But I'm sharing it anyway! The candles image I also airbrushed around the edges and added some doodles before I sponged the brown. Final Card size is an A2.

Holiday Ornament

This card is again a combination of simple elements put together. I used a Cuttlebug Folder to emboss the Ornaments for the gold background. I stamped the small snowflakes randomly, then the ornament, all embossed in Gold. I cut the ornament out, then added layers under it, with the the final layer having a scalloped edge. The bottom scallop strip was created with a Martha Stewart punch. Lots of little crystals on the scallops and a gold bow to finish the card. Final card size is an A2.

One Sick Frog

This little guy partied too hard on St. Patty's Day... too much green beer, I think. Now he is sickie, sickie! This image is "Frog on Leaf" from Dog Gone Stamps. I guess I got a little "Dot & Doodle happy" with this card. I airbrushed the sentiment and around the edges of the image. I cut the main image out with Nesties, then hand trimmed the outer layers using scissors. I used my white gel pen liberally applying dots and a Black Micron pen for some additional doodles. I thought the ribbon mirrored the dots, with the white stitching running down the middle. Added a few gems and a little double bow to complete the card. Final card size is 5x5 Square.

Easter Eggs

Now this card screams "Easter". I don't think I have ever used this color combo together on a card! These images are more of TCP's New Spring Release Stamps.... they have stayed on my desk since I got them. They are so stinkin' cute, I can't help but reach for them on every other card! This card is Copics and paper! Copics to color the sky, grass, the little chicken and her eggs. My copic sky does not fade from dark to light as nicely as I had envisioned! I masked the grass and stamped it a couple of times to create a little hill top. The flowers are actually a string of flower ribbon, I snipped them apart and added a little bling to the centers. Some cuttlebug action with my favorite Swiss Dots. The green and white strips are rainbow tape covering the paper's edges. I used Spellbinder's Ribbon tag for the sentiment, but cut off the ribbon slot on the right side. A little tag and some decorative pearls to finish it up. Card size is an A2.

Pondering Pup

Awww, isn't this pup too cute. I wanted to put "Hang in There" for the sentiment... but could I find that stamp, NO! I'm sure none of you have that problem, right?! This little guy is from Dog Gone Stamps, and if you are a dog lover.... they have some really good images for you! Lots of other stuff too, but the dogs are my favorite. I kept it simple, I thought this Pup was cute enough, he didn't need to be fussed up too much... Airbrushed a little on the edges and colored this cutie with Copics. I added some Black Spica to his nose so it looks "wet" as doggies noses are! I added a little orange polka dot paper strips and photo corners. I edged those strips with White Rainbow tape to cover the seam. Added a little bling and some ribbon to finish it up. Card size is an A2.

Do you smell Carrots?

OK... slowly I am returning to human. Not quite there yet...but getting there! I so appreciate the well wishes and comments from everyone... forgive me if I didn't always respond back to you this past week. I'm getting back in the swing of everything! I have not left my house in 7 days! Seven days! No stamps in my hand for 6 days! Six Days! Back to work in the morning for me... probably a mountain of work waiting for me! I'll tote my cough drops and hot tea and get to it, happy to join the real world again!

Now on to the card.... How cute are these little bunnies!! They are Hula Bunnies created by Stamp La Jolla. They have these bunnies in all sorts of funny scenes... check out the whole collection of Hula Bunnies. Sorry if I just helped money fly out of your wallet! But they are pretty cute! I used my Nesties to create a window for my bunnies and then trimmed out the ears so they would pop out from the window. The sunglasses have crystal lacquer over them... for the full Hula Bunny "coolness" effect! I thought this sentiment from TCP matched up well with them... cause they kind of look like they are in serious conversation, and what's more serious than carrots are to rabbits? I used my gel pen for the white hatch marks around the card, and pricked holes in between the little marks. Little bow, ribbons and bunny head brad to finish it up. Final card size is an A2.

This week's OCC hostess is Kim Teasdale and she has created another fabulous challenge… she has challenged us to a Limited Supplies Challenge. Did you read that.... 3 layers????? This OCC challenge for today was HARD for me. I am not happy with my card at all. I think that the flu has eaten my creative brain cells. That's the story I'm going with anyway. I actually made two cards .... I did not like either one. My second week with the OCC, and this is all I can come up with????

The good news is I am feeling a tad more towards human today... so hopefully I can get in my craft room and create something I like and enjoy myself today.

This Cat is Cookin'

I had made a second Sprinkle card from the BBQ Paper I had purchased, so I thought I'd share it. I have not made any new cards this week, I have been SICK as a dog with the flu. I am not quite human feeling yet --but hopefully on my way there. The fringe on this card was white paper and I airbrushed some orange and brown to change the color. I think everything is pretty self explanitory here... My usual airbrushing, doodles, pearls.... Finished card size is an A2.

Christmas in March

I am SICK and feeling pretty rotten. I have been in the bed all weekend, what a waste. YUK. So I'm sharing a card I made a few weeks ago. I made this card as part of trio of Holiday cards that I submitted, they accepted one for publication, but this one was REJECTED! It happens! I used to submit a good bit, always a thrill to see your card and name in print! For the past two years I really stopped sending stuff in. So that was a goal for 2009 to start submitting again.

This card is a combination of simple elements put together. I used a Cuttlebug Folder to emboss the Snowflakes for the left strip, then a 1/8" inch Ivory strip to cover the seam between the kraft and gold paper. The gold strip was embossed and cut with a Spellbinder's Borderabilities die. The Holiday words were gold embossed and cut out using Spellbinder's Double Edged Tags. I tucked a little ribbon in between the legs of the brad prior to pushing it through the paper. The snowflakes were also gold embossed and then I used circle punches to cut out the image and one gold circle to layer. Some crystals to finish the card. Final card size is an A2.

You guys left me the best comments-- which were great to read... especially since I was and am not feeling so hot, unless you count hot as feverish! I really appreciate all the Congrats on the OCC -- I am still pinching myself!

I'll admit having a few nerves putting my cards in the mix... The talent on the OCC is plenty BIG! I have been playing along with the OCC for a little while and always enjoy the Saturday challenges and seeing what the gals create each week. The OCC Challenge for today is to "Add a Doodle" on your card, well, that was right up my alley! I used my white gel pen to create some little doodles around the borders of my images. The colors were inspired by this week's TCP Tuesday Inspiration Challenge hosted by Toni. I used my Martha punch to create the little strip border: punching two strips and using them back to back, a little white strip of ribbon covers the seam. I added some Crystal Lacquer over the Jelly Bean Jar. Some dew drops, white dots and a little mini white bow to finish it off. Card size is an A2.

Golden Birthday

Happy Friday! This card is for Sharon's challenge for today: Stamp Simply #77 - Heat It Up! - "pull out those heat guns and heat emboss an image that will create a card conveying SIMPLE ELEGANCE!!!" I love heat embossing... I love watching someone see it for the first time and their eyes get big as they see it melt! It has such a wow factor on cards. Since I got my hands on Copic markers I must say I don't emboss as much as I used to, so this was a good reminder of how easy and pretty embossed images are. There is only one image on here, another rarity. The card is mainly about a simple image and showing off the Italian Floral Paper I used. I used my Southwest Corner punch to notch each corner, and created a frame using gold Sulky thread, accented with some small golden pearls. I cut slits in the sides of the oval, in between the ivory and brown using my xacto knife, then threaded my ribbon through the openings. I used a brown Copic marker for the brown border and added some teeny little gold dots. Click on the close up to see a better view of the paper! Another card with no Martha punch! Whatttt is going on? Finished card size is an A2.

Three little Carrots

There is not much to this card. I used the last of my carrot ribbon.... boo hoo. I thought I had another roll but I have yet to find it, I'll probably find it the day after Easter. I layered strips of DP and then used 1/16 White Rainbow Tape to cover the paper seams. A lot of you guys have emailed or left comments about Rainbow Tape... Here is the site so you can see it up close and personal. They have lots of colors and widths and metallic tape too. This card was a quickie, coloring the little carrots and some simple assembling of papers. Finished card size is an A2. Also -- a huge THANKS to you guys... leaving the nicest comments lately! So very appreciated!

Cruisin' in a Carrot Car

I don't even know what to say about this card-- it just makes me laugh. It's bright and bold and totally funny to me. The paper is from Basic Grey's Marrakech Collection. Loving this collection. On all the Nestie Shapes ---I left them in the die and airbrushed blue around the edges, then outlined with a pen to get my border before removing the paper from the die. I hand trimmed borders on the images. I added little eyelets to the wheels of the carrot cruiser. White gel pen dots and some ribbon to complete the card. Finished card is an A2. Oh yeah -- Please note that I did not use a Martha Punch on this card... trying to break the addiction.

Wild Spring Sprinkle

The world must be going mad....

1. I am making Easter cards, which is a first, despite a pretty nice collection of Easter stamps that I somehow have in my craft room.
2. There is snow on the ground here---in Atlanta, in March!
3. I ordered my NEW TCP Stamps on Friday, as in days ago, and they were here on Monday. Now I'm not a fan of the USPS, as my mailman drives half up the driveway and routinely throws packages in the general direction of my garage...but I have to tip my Easter Bonnet to the USPS on this one, as these flew here from San Francisco to Atlanta in record time! Not to mention the top service on TCP's part getting them out the door asap!

Friday when I saw the new stamps released by TCP I eyed this Sprinkle with the Bonnet first. So I had to ink it up and play with it right away. I airbrushed and colored using my Copics. All this colorful paper is from Imaginisce's "Twitterpated". And... I won this paper as blog candy from Jennifer Meyer - so shoutin' out a big Thank you to her! Really, the card is just layers of paper and of course that Martha Punch. On the edge of the pink lace border I airbrushed just a tad of darker pink color to help tie the pinks together. Little triple bow and sparkly Spica pen to Sprinkle's Bonnet to finish this card. Final card size is an A2.

Happy Spring!

Again I am playing with my new Basic Grey papers "Porcelain". I tell you I am hooked on Basic Grey 6x6 Paper Pads and those Martha punches! This stamp is only one chick, I masked the center one with Eclipse tape and stamped him some friends. I paper pieced the egg shells. Chick and friends are colored with Copics and I airbrushed around my Nestie too. I did some faux stitching around the edges of the background square (the only kind of stitching you will ever see from me, lol!) by using my white gel pen and and paper pricker. I added some other white doodles here and there. Some pearls and gems to decorate the scalloped edge and pleated ribbon to complete the card. Finished card size is an A2.

Elephant Trio

This card was definitely inspired by the new Collection of papers from Basic Grey "Marrakech" . This little elephant is from Coronado Island Stamps -- and I have to brag on the stamps -- this little guy has so much detail to him! I stamped the Elephant with Versafine Onyx Black and then used a Square Nestie to cut out, using the Nestie as a mask while I airbrushed a little yellow. The jagged edge is a Martha Stewart border punch. Yes... my addiction with those punches continues! I did not have a good sentiment to pair with this image, so I added the little double circle punch and looped a ribbon thru it for an extra embellishment, plus I also did not want to cover up the Elephants on the background paper. Little Square crystals turned on the corners to finish the card. Final card size is an A2.
