Christmas Blog Candy!

Oh.... what a good day I have had! I stalked my mailbox like a demon all day waiting for the postman who was totally three hours later than he usually is, patience: not really a strong point of mine.... but it was worth the wait. I got new Nesties and new Cat's Pajama's stamps and after opening my goodies quicker than lightning I was off to my stamp room... And since I had a good day... Alma at The Cat's Pajama's thought someone else should too..... so TCP BLOG CANDY is up for grabs! I made this card using one of the new sets "Deck the Hall", which shows off all the usual TCP characters in the Holiday Spirit. Of course I had to go for Sprinkle first! The black around the edges -- well I doodled around the edges and decided it was some bad doodling so I used the chisel end of a black marker and wiped my doodles away. I thought the black tied in better with Sprinkle in the end anyway. Trust me the doodles were bad. I used a teeny tad of glitter glue to liven up the little light bulbs and the garland is outlined with a gold pen.
  • Stamps: All Stamps by The Cat's Pajama's "Deck the Hall"
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Onyx Black
  • Paper: DP by Basic Grey 6x6 "Boxer", Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110#, Red Cardstock
  • Other: Nesties, Copics, Micro Black pen, Cuttlebug Folder, White Sticky Dots, Misc. Ribbon, Spica Pens, Fine Glitter Glue, Gold Gel Pen
OK --- NOW --- BLOG CANDY..... This TCP clear set "Deck the Hall" could be in your stampin' hand soon. I think I have a lot of readers that are animal lovers, well, maybe cat people more than dog owners.... so I thought to win this set all you need to do is leave a comment on this posting and if you have a pet tell me what kind of fur baby and it's name.... or your favorite pet from childhood/whenever and the name.
I know I always refer to my Humane Society Black and White Tuxedo Cat as "my bad cat" but he does have a name... "Peppercorn" named by my husband. We have shortened it and call him all sorts of things ....Pepper, Peeps, Dr. Pepper and little Rat (when he is bad).
So leave a comment and I'll have the husband draw a winner on November 23rd, next Sunday evening....

  2. My Deck the Hall set arrived today too! So, if your cat-naming husband draws my name, have him draw again.
My cats (from the local shelter) are named Tigger and Pooh, and they look like they could be Sprinkle's brothers.

I love your card! You used the image that sold me on that set! I like the way you colored the tree. I should go play with my new set too!

We also have a black cat named Oscar, a Siamese cat named Bucky, and a domestic long hair blonde cat(DLH)named Isis. 6. I love your card too! Very cute! I don't have a pet now (Husband is allergic to everything!), but growing up we had a black lab named Raisin. She was the best dog ever! We used to dress her up and she loved it!

  7. Hi Jenny,
Love your beautiful Christmas card. So nicely created. I have been so inspired by you and your blog that I recently have purchased a heap of cat stamps, including some from the Cat's Pajamas that haven't arrived yet, but I didn't purchase this set. Of course we have a cat called Maisie Raine. We call her Maisie, Muss and a hole lot of other names sometimes. She is a stray and found us. Our other felines that have passed were called Mr. Tibbs, Duchess, Whisky and Snowy. Thanks for the opportunity to win some blog candy.

  8. Cute card - love the sentiment with the image! My mailman brought my new nesties yesterday and I played with them all day, too, but didn't get to post yet. The label one you used is my favorite.

I also tried my hand at some of your doodling today and was ready to do just what you did and cover it all up, but Tim said he liked it, so I left it...

My fur babies, two of whom you have met, are Jet, Saba and Statia. Since I have no TCP stamps, please tell Anthony to pick me ;-)

  11. Jen I just love all the detailing and colors on this card, beautiful card.

I currently have no fur babies but we use to have the neatest cat named Gizmo. He was a male tabby with a friendly dispostion and when he died I never brought myself to replace him. He was extra special in many ways.

I would love to win this set maybe it would give me incentive to start on my Holiday cards!

  12. I love this stamp set! I think I have to have it. Last year my cat Stormy, one of my fur babies, decided that she owned the Christmas tree and she was going to live in it. Luckily she was unable to make it past the first set of branches but she loved to lay down there and "surprise" her sister or anyone who got to close to the tree. She is a hoot!

  13. Jenny, this is an adorable card and these stamps are fabulous. Not sure if I can wait for the drawing, may just have to go ahead and purchase the set, lol. As usual, all your embellishments are gorgeous. Don't you just love the new Nestie's Labels? Thanks for sharing.

  14. This is such a cute card. Love it. I have had so many pets in my lifetime even not so usual pets. But, I would have to say my most favorite was a stray rottwellier my son brought home,( I have to say I wasn't too thrilled at the time) but "Buster" was such a great pet. He was also a friend. He was so gentle and good with everyone. I miss him and know I will not have another like him.

  15. LOVe the card! Those curved nesties are just perfect with it. As you know my tuxedo kitty was JoJo, the best cat I'll ever have. I miss him every day. Miriam

  16. No pets for me but my all-time favorite dog was Snicker Partouche. I still miss him. He would sleep head down under all the covers - don't know how he was able to breathe. Would love to have this set - so many cute images. Barb

  17. I have 4 fur babies - I kitty and three adorable Yokies!

My kitty is a seal point persian (think Fancy feast kitty) and his name is Windsor. His goal in life is to have you tell him how beautiful he is!

My three Yorkies are Hunter, Maggie and Kendal. They are unconditional love - okay except for Maggie - her full name is Miss Maggie Moo Muffin and little did I know when I named her how fitting the Moo would be - she's a chubba whubba and she just loves her Daddy!

Thanks for the chance to win!

  19. I too am a dog person. We rescued a German Shepherd from the Humane Society about 6 years ago. She was a couple years old when we got her. Her name is Maggie and she is the biggest LOVE! I can't remember what it's like to not have a fur baby... Thanks for sharing your fur baby with us. (and the chance at that adorable stamps set)

  22. We traveled a lot when I was little and my brother was allergic, so pet choices were limited. I chose a cute little Chinese hamster that I called "Hammy" (original, I know, but I was 8). I loved letting Hammy run around on my bedspread, stuffing (non-kernal) popcorn into his cheeks. He always knew where the edge of the bed was too. He'd run right up and stop cold.

  23. I used to have a long-haired black and white Tuxedo cat, named Baby. Like Sprinkle, she had her very own Christmas tree that was close to 2 feet tall, that she liked to sit beside and knock over occasionally, and every Christmas morning she would find wrapped presents just for her underneath it. One year, I bought her a fish-shaped hot water bottle, and I wrapped it tightly in orange tissue paper and drew a mouth, eyes and fins on it... it looked like a big gold fish under the tree! I think Baby was disappointed that it wasn't a real fish she could nibble on, hee hee, but she enjoyed the warmth of the hot water bottle :)

I love your Cat's Pajamas cards! Thank you for the opportunity to win... I love Deck The Hall set!
